You just said you have a chain but did not use it. Get this through your thick head, I'm not talking about the well-being of the dog, although that should concern you. I'm talking about traffic safety. What if the person did try to contact you? What if they actually wrecked and had to be taken to the hospital? You knew your dog was getting out ever day, but I suppose it's everyone else's responsiblity not to use the public roads in front of your house so you can let your dog run loose as you want to? No? The fact is, you knew the measures you were taking to contain your dog weren't adequate--he continued to get loose. If you had a child that repeatedly ran out into the street, would you continue to let him do so? I'll say that you would take the proper measures no matter what those may be. If I were the driver and you acted like this to me, slapping me or whatever, you'd find yourself in small claims court for negligence. So, we have a person here who didn't contact you when YOUR ACTIONS casued them to hit your dog, although we don't know what measures they took, and yet they're assholes. You need to have a discussion with someone about personal responsibility. The dog is dead because YOU DID NOT KEEP IT CONTAINED.. That's the bottom line. I'm sorry that yo lost your dog, but I'm having a tough time feeling sympathy for you when you don't seem to take any responsibility.

People just kill me...I run over a turtle in the road and Im crying!! I couldnt live with myself if I had hit someones puppy.
Assholes all of em!I understand that losing a dog is painful, but here you've condemend someone for hitting your dog when you didn't see what happened. You said he jumped your fence every day, yet you apparently did nothing to prevent that. A loose dog is a traffic hazzard, and could have caused a serious accident. How do you know these people are assholes? You should be ashamed that you didn't take adequate steps to prevent this when you knew he was getting out. I know that may be hard to take right now, but maybe you can learn something from this instead of blaiming hte innocent motorist who happened to have their day ruined when a lose dog ran out in front of them.

I've not found telling lies to be necessary. I'm brutally honest, and people respect my opinion. If I give you a compliment, you can believe it. I don't always give my opinion, but when I do it's what I believe. Being non-confrontational and telling "white lies" does not ever keep the peace, in my opinon. So ladies, don't ask me "Does this dress make me look fat?" lol

Google adv "Meet single JW just like you"
by mad max ini can't understand why they have put this ad up on this site, as it is only people who are not jw who look at this site (and others) so why advertise "meet single jw just like you on this site".
i thought maybe it was for single ex jw, so went into that site, and low and behold it was for jw only.
they were saying something like this "... we would like to say thank you so much brothers for this site as i have meet my wife/husband etc ....and thank you so much jehovah..".

I'm currently a university student employed at a local hardware big box store. I'm majoring in Math, but I've always enjoyed reading and writing also. In Junior college, I had 11 different works published in the yearly college publication over a two-year period. I've not written in a while though, and am focusing more on Math right now. I was employed as a heating and air conditioning technician before going back to school, and was raised on a farm.
As I said, I've always enjoyed math. I used to sit down in 1st grade after I got my farm chores done and work pages of problems for fun--I was enthralled that such big numbers could be added, divided, and multiplied on paper.
I have many and varied interests, and deciding what to do with my time is a chore. I've always been fascinated with flight and actively flew r/c model airplanes for several years and even had an r/c helicopter. I like to ride dirt bikes and horses, go fishing and hunting, work on cars, design things, etc. I've wanted to take up tree grafting and beekeeping for a couple of years now, but my college career and living arrangement isn't allowing that. I'm undecided where I'll be going after college--I have many interests--so I'm in a bit of a wait and see mindset right now. I was raised as a JW, but faded out over the last few years. I now consider myself to be a tentative agnostic/deist, and am not putting much thought into the subject right now--I've got too many tangible things to worry about.

Well, it's not exactly my point of view, now is it?
I mistakenly thought you were the original poster because of your direct response here to my advice for the original poster who does want to fade. My apologies. However, I stand by the other assertions I made.

What are your goals in life that don't involve the WTS?
by John Doe ini'm just curious.
i know this is a wts discussion forum, but by some posts, it seems as if the wts never leaves some heads.
also, a lot seems to be conspiracy theory.

It's nice to hear your posts. All the paranoid-evil-empire-talk gets a bit stale after a while. Me, I have no life. I'm taking Linear Algebra and Calculus III this summer and working besides. But at least I find derivatives and differentials fun and fascinating--of course Blake and Faulkner are loads of fun too. :-) I suppose that's what matters.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get others to see things from your point of view.
I'm not convinced of lying. If the organization were as decietful and worried about control as claimed by many, why would they give such a near date if they know it to be false? Afterall, this has caused mass AWOL in the organization. Doesn't this run contrary to their goal? This demonstrates to me that they believe what they are preaching. But, my point was that what we think are facts are not always facts. Our interpretation of what facts are is just that--our interpretation. To think we are more enlightened than a group of people is a bit arrogant and condescending. I'm not saying you're not right, I'm saying that your perspective is a little judgemental. Again, there's nothing wrong with sharing information and discussing views. Everything is wrong with trying to convert others to your way of thinking--saying you have the "truth" and are going to save your beneficiaries from their depraved lifestyle.Isn't that just what the WTS does? Aren't the minds of JWs constantly under a particular regime of agressive "mind control" with all the meetings, literature to read and underline and so forth?
That's about as aggressive as it gets! And okay---if you want to label it as that "breach of morality", the shoe would fit like Cinderella's.
AnnieBingo!! You did catch my implication. Now here's my question. If you beleive the organization to be as bad as you portray in this post, why do you want to fade? Do you not find it extremely hypocritical? If you remain in association, you are tacitly supporting what you claim to hate. This is how it appears to me, at any rate. (have to throw these qualifiers in lol)

Don't feel left out, purplesofa. The women are free to join the guys.
Which, incidentally, brings to thought another topic. Why is it not socially acceptable for women to be topless, but ok for guys? Ironically, child-bearing women are the ones who need to go shirtless to breastfeed--kind of ironic, huh? lol I suspect it goes back to the Oedipus complex.
